Not really. After independence the party members would naturally break off to whichever branch of politics they espouse, and the SNP would be more or less a daft wee party that folk only really remember from the past. Regardless, lot of their current support is from people, like myself, who wouldn't dream of voting for them in an independent Scotland, but at the moment see them as a means to an end.

Ironically, it would appear that independence is the only way for the Daily Mail and their chinless, inbred readership to see their dream of the end of the SNP.

I like how you preface that post with "not really", then go on to describe exactly what I would find interesting about the SNP in a post-independent scotland Laugh

Yeah, but if I'd said "It's perfectly obvious", I'd have sounded like a dick.

Laugh

Obvious doesn't necessarily mean uninteresting. It's not as cut and dried as it once was as well, since they have become the party of government. If there's one thing that can make people ditch their beliefs, it's a bit of power Laugh

I've never been as disinterested in a general election as I am this time around. Awful options all round.

I will probably vote Greens but even that will leave a bitter taste in the mouth when their leader can't be fucked preparing and knowing the policies when she's doing interviews.

Can't bring myself to vote Labour.

You're right, it's pretty uninspiring.

Maybe just follow the example set by my family and vote conservative.

Different party. The scottish greens and the green party of england and wales are separate, and it was the one from down south who fucked up iirc

Are they not sister parties or something like that?

I noticed Patrick Harvie retweeting a lot of her apology stuff around that time so assumed they were one and the same.

Probably shouldn't vote if I don't even know who's who Warnock Sob

Just read that article.

I feel so out of touch with the British public because imigration pretty much means nothing to me in terms of importance.

I'd honestly place it down beside the likes of morality and the European Union.

Pisses me off that the main parties have framed their campaigns around it because it's easy to pray on the vulnerable.

One thing i'll say about the negative effects of immigration is that it often leads to an erosion of standard british english and allows americanisms to take hold. And there's no defence against that.

Witty post aside, do you genuinely have a problem with americanisms?
