Spider-Man: Far from Home

8/10

One of the better Spider-Man films up there with the second Toby Maguire one. Jake Gyllenhaal seems to be having a lot of fun hamming it up

The Happytime Murders ... worth a caper.
The Terminator .. first time I've seen it since it was originally released. Too many chases and too much shooting for a more mature pondlife.

Both on Netflix currently.

Lion King 8/10

Had my reservations after seeing the reviews, and it doesn't get near the original, but it is still fucking great. Seth Rogan steals the show.

Spider-Man Far From Home 8/10

Possibly the best Spider-Man film to date, Tom Holland is always great and Jake Gylenhall was brilliant jamming it up as Mysterio. Had reservations about the film being set in Europe but it worked really well.

Am I risking a brain aneurysm if I purchase a centre front-row IMAX seat to go see Apocalyse Now - The Final Cut, bearing in mind I'll likely be absolutely fried?

I should add that I don't particularly want to sit in this position but that's all that's left, or otherwise I'll be forced to go somewhere else like matinee screening where I'll probably have some dodgy mac-wearing codger beside me, hence the question in previous post about best edinburgh cinemas.

Apocalypse Now - The Final Cut
9.5/10

If you've seen Redux you've already seen it, although obviously this pares down significantly. There were a few bits, mainly brief added dialogue, that seemed to have been included. The cinematography is great on the big screen (my first time seeing it in this format). Having watched this movie countless times over the years, it was however the sound that stood out for me.

No, it was sold out when I looked. It was either the IMAX at Fountainbridge but seat options were not conducive to mixing sight/sound/my condition so ended up at Omni centre, which was generally fine apart from glare of emergency exit lights.

Heard it was one of the better Spiderman films of recent years; got good reviews too. Both my kids really enjoyed the film.

Once upon a time in Hollywood - 8.5/10

Absolutely loved it. Everything you'd want in a Tarantino movie. It's the sort of movie where anyone less than Tarantino knowledge of cinema will miss a thousand references. Amazing.
