I've already had basically this chat from one of my friends, that it was always the plan to do this but we had to wait til the window was shut. No explanation why that'd be the case
He said he was happy with our midfield until Haring got an injury. So to cover that, we sign a guy on a 4 year deal, and look like signing at least one of a veteran and a City youngster

That said, I'm honestly so fucking annoyed that that's now loads of folk right back into happy clappy mode. WHAT A SIGNING, DEFENCE IS FIXED, THIS WAS ALWAYS THE PLAN BUT WE HAD TO WAIT TIL THE WINDOW CLOSED etc. Load of shite. Panic stations when it turned out having two dug shit goalkeepers was actually not a good idea - after two league games and half a cup campaign - when everyone's been saying it for the last 9 months. Some job he's got - you can say what you want, do what you want, fail all you want, get whatever results, scapegoat whomever you want and then you can sign as many players as you want to buy yourself time when the pressure starts up.
So far we've signed Halkett, White, Pereira, Damour, Washington, Walker, Naismith and it looks like Whelan, Meshino and a striker are on the way as well. This despite him saying repeatedly that he wouldn't be doing much business this summer and that he was happy with his squad as is. He said he might sign one more player in an interview with the Daily Record just over a month ago. He's on the verge of 5 signings since then now.

Not saying it was right to give Doyle the contract extension but would not be surprised to see Bobby leave with the clubs best wishes etc etc pretty soon.
Thoughts on this guy? Two games in is early doors but he's had shakey moments in both to be honest.
He had a couple of ropey/indecisive moments last week that he got away with but I feel he's at fault for two goals at Park Head. He gets caught in no man's land for the first and I think he should do a lot better for the second. He's got ages to get across, move his feet and make the save. And he goes with his wrong hand as well. All in all it was a poor attempt to save it having already made a cunt of the first goal.
Two games in there isn't much giving me confidence about him. He may well turn out fine but early signs aren't impressive.

He's been alright so far. Probably about as good as a keeper bought overnight in a panic because you showed no interest in getting one in June can be.
Neither looked very clever at the first goal but if a keeper comes for it he has to get there. He just stopped. He should be knocking cunts out the road to get the ball.
I've not seen either of his games for us, but I'll still take him in front of Bobby or Dhoyle every time, 2 of the worst goalies at hearts since Kurskis
I just watched the goals from yesterday, first one is Berra all day, what the fuck he's doing I do not know, I think he can save the second one tbh, think he still had more reach on him there, can't do anything at the third.
Him and Berra made an arse of that first goal and the second one was certainly savable. Bobby had to be dropped and Doyle's Doyle so I guess we're just going to have to persist and hope he grows into the position.
