Halkett played 40 out of 44 games for Livi last season on the worst pitch in the league hands down. 10 games for Hearts and his knee is gone. Monty Ha

Washington has never had a real injury in his career and 5 minutes at Hearts and his hammy is done.

Man U keeper is just in the door and then he's back down to Manchester for treatment.

It is honestly incredible and can't be just put down to bad luck. How the fuck is Naisy allowed to go and piss about with Scotland for two weeks and is out for a further month? How? Something is very wrong.

It's ridiculous.

As ridiculous are the claims that it is bad luck, or that big bad teams are kicking us off the park. With a few exceptions, these players are picking up avoidable muscle injuries, and people think it's bad luck and nothing else? Monty Ha

I saw at the meeting last week Levein had said it may have something to do with swapping pitches so much at Riccarton but sort of dismissed it.

They need to get experts in to scrutinise every single aspect of day-to-day training at Hearts because this can't go on.
It's utter shit

Halkett's was a challenge from an opposing player. Fuck all to do with anything else.

So his knee couldn't have been weak prior to it?

That wouldn't normally be a question but with these injuries it is. Walker getting a broken leg after a tackle is different.

Maybe the fact that they've all got glass legs from whatever they are doing at the Oriam.

I can't believe that some people are still putting all our injuries down to bad luck.
I've never seen anything like it in my life.

It's ok guys. We did an investigation and turned up nothing. It's just purely bad luck for all of them.

I don't think it's necessarily a "pitch thing" - but more to do with the absolute shite coaching that the players are being subjected to.

Never known anything like it in all the years I've been watching Hearts.

Even during the Vlad Flu epidemic.

Quote:In my experience its a combination of individual training load+team training load+previous injuries+match load+players natural fitness.

Generally i find i can avoid injury crises by:

Less minutes/games for returning injured players.

If i see 2 or more players injured within a couple of weeks, i drop the team training load to low for a couple of weeks.

Rotation. Injuries seem lowest when players (excluding GK) play 2 matches in 14 days. With the normal schedules i find its not unusual to need to play 4 matches in 14 days. This means i restrict most players to 3, and players with high injury risk to 2 matches in 14 days.

If a player report says "will rarely succumb to injury" i do get more matches per season out of them.

Remember to keep track of international matches, as i think that increases the load on the player.

The rotation causes my key player/first team players to end up on the bench 1/4 of the time , and i sub them in if needed.
That took all of 2 minutes to find - Levein can thank me later.

I've wondered if the Oriam was an issue. Edinburgh City also train there and they have had similar issues with injuries.

Smith and Berra our CB pairing until Souttar is back then Eek

In all seriousness there has to be something up within the club that has caused so many serious injuries over the last two seasons.
