yep, but I find it curious how people mis-interpret his work.

You'd enjoy The Trial and Metamorphosis too if you like these books. my avatar and name 'gregory' is based on the book metamorphosis.

The Trial and The Castle are my favourite Kafka books though. If you like 1984 you'll definitely like The Trial.

The Trial is great. Have had The Castle on the shelf for ages unread though. You're making a big commitment when you start one of his Laugh

FWIW, people who bring up Orwell when discussing politics should be disqualified from voting. Such a lazy trope.

Reading The Chain (I know, fuck off). You know you’re reading a trashy summer thriller when you’re 83% of the way through and it says this:

What did the fam get for Christmas? Looking forward to getting into my presents:

In terms of ones I've read, I've been quite busy wi yon books recently:

A really interesting account of Ai Weiwei's arrest and treatment by the Chinese state. Has lots of first-hand interviews, but could've done without the swathes of pages devoted to the history of Chinese art just 'cause the author knew what it was.

Was only really after finishing I appreciated the book as a whole and the influence PTSD clearly had on all the characters involved, but plot-wise absolutely fuck all really happens until the end.

A story about six people who end up joining together as eco-terrorists; a book in which you'll learn hunners of facts about trees. Sounds absolutely shit but it went straight into my top 10 ever; the story, characterisation and message is just so good Laugh

Just pre-ordered this. Can’t wait tbh. Out a wee bit sooner than it should’ve been because his wife died a few months ago and he basically went on a writing spree.

Compelling and utterly terrifying look at big money in American politics since the Citizens United ruling in 2010.

Part of me wants to delve deeper into the subject, but another part wants to read something a little less rage-inducing next. Monty Umm

Have had this lying next to my bed for a few weeks now. Genuinely looking forward to reading it, but hardly seem to have any time to read for pleasure thesr days.

I've had to stop reading non-fiction like that as it puts me on such a downer Laugh have read Capital by Piketty, When The Money Runs Out, and Postcapitalism in the last few years and that's me spent with finding out how corrupt and fucked the world is. Alternative War is likely to sit there until I need to use it for kindling post-Brexit Monty Oh Well

I read Naomi kleins this changes everything a while back and it really was fucking depressing Laugh had to read something lighter alongside it.

I’ve heard ‘on fire’ is more a series of essays which put me off.

Started reading Hacienda - How Not to Run a Club- By Peter Hook.

Really interesting how it started and how little knowledge or experience anyone at Factory had in running a club. The amount of money New Order must have put in to keep it afloat will be staggering.

Some funny stories in it and Hook has the ability to jump from seeming a decent guy to utter cock on a page by page basis.
