Mind when 2na said it's nae bother to replace Mclaughlin then we got relegated because of shambolic goalkeeping

I'd take both back in a heartbeat. Goalkeeper has to be a priority for next season, someone half decent and signed on a permanent basis, not just a fifth choice for an EPL side.

We can't be messing about taking any chances with the keeper next year. Even if it's just for one year to get us back up, we need a solid, 7/10 dependable keeper in his 30s who has seen it all before and preferably has no interest in playing passes along the ground.

We won't get someone at his level in the first division. I'd throw the young boy stone in for the season next year. We need players to score goals, shankland basically got Utd up on his todd, we need someone of that ilk up front.
I fancy Boyce will be off, so maybe Nisbett at Dunfermline could get the goals we will need.

Put a child in goals - what could go wrong

I would hope goal keeper will be the least of our needs in the championship though and I wouldn't blow the budget on one.

Fuck's sake Worryingly this is probably what the brains trust will be planning as well. We won't get McLaughlin but we might tempt Gordon for a year. More realistically I'd be happy with someone unspectacular but dependable in the Jamie Mac/Scott Fox/Cammy Bell type mould. It's not exciting but it'll do the job.

He's a good player. There are other good players

Zibby Zlamal will probably stay first choice
If my FM20 save is indicative of anything, Stone will be Scotland number one by 20

I'm genuinely surprised he's still playing, I'd heard rumblings a few years back that his elbow is goosed and he'd been advised to chuck playing. Would love us to get McLaughlin or Gordon, but would settle for the old cliche of “safe pair of hands†if we're playing in the championship. Someone to do a job and get us back up again at minimum fuss. Would be an absolute master stroke to get McLaughlin or Gordon, which is why I think we'll end up resigning Jamie MacDonald or go for someone like Tomas Cerny. The dream was good while it lasted I suppose.

Stones a good prospect by all accounts. Think Stendel was starting to mention him getting into the squad last season.
Too early for him though I think. Maybe the odd game here and there but we need experience.

Gordon in the championship with the long term plan of bringing Stone through?
