First go of making the new chicken dish tonight. On the menu as
Chicken Supreme / Sweetcorn / Bacon / Tarragon / Potato

Chicken was class, skin was crispy and the flesh was juicy as fuck cause it’s been brined. The potato risotto was great too, was worried it might be too dry but just like a good risotto, it wasn’t. Need to render the fat more on the bacon next time and we’re golden.

You ken how to cook a dish like Piggy

See after my Beer 52 fad, I came to the conclusion that most craft beer taste very similar.

I'd always choose an IPA over a lager, but craft beer patter is awful. One of the beers on that link has "notes of bubblegum" Monty Chuckle

I mind drinking with some ex-colleagues in The Hanging Bat a few years ago and one of the boys ordered a bacon and maple stout.

It's hit or miss - like anything really. There was that wee shop Beer Zoo in Porty and the boys that worked in it were sound. Could usually find something to your tastes. I don't even know if they're still open now.

Would take a cold vitamin T before any of it though GodIsGod

Craft beer’s what you make of it really, some of them are a bit meh but some of them are quality. Had a Tiramisu stout at the brewers near me a few weeks ago and it was absolute Pinilla

Think the problem with craft beer is the trend the last few years was to make it super hoppy and add some random ingredients (citrus fruit a few years back, some form of flower/plant these days) so a huge number of them are just low quality IPA with the added bonus of a rank aftertaste.

The irony is you can often get far better variety in old school boozers with a rotating guest ale than you do in trendier places that have 3 identikit IPAs in modern arty cans. Jezza

My old man calls it ‘Ice Cold’ - not sure if that’s an Edinburgh thing or not? Like he’ll be at the bar and go ‘two pints of ice cold please’. Warnock

That’s how it was marketed when they first brought in the fonts that were cold. Maybe comes from that.

Went in to check it out shortly after it opened ... was very 'colourful', and unfortunately expensive so didn't bother, and haven't been back in since. Said at the time I'd be shocked if it managed to hang in there.  Honestly couldn't tell you if it is indeed still open.

Beer is like Chinese or a curry, you, or rather I, don't stray far, pretty much stick to the same old stuff!   Monty Oh Well
