Most sides won't have the belief to do that to us in this league. We just don't cope with it with Berra and Gordon prone to a hoofball. Kingsley and Brandon weren't getting wide to accept a pass to build play either in the first half.

Hope that Haring gets back to where he was and we can use him to build play. It's frightening that Berra plays but as someone has said it must be because this other boy is even worse in training. A failure to recruit wide players and a CB has been the biggest problem.

Aye but most sides will next season Eek

As we all agree, major major surgery is needed on this squad when we go up. I’m worried the training isn’t really geared towards that. I think it’s easy to coach sides to go side to side and keep possession - different story when the team are going to come at you.

If you're going to sign a has been then go get a technical ballplayer like Adam. The likes of Naismith and Whelan aren't value for money.

It's the likes of Hamilton and St. Johnstone that'll come to tynecastle and sit in a bit that worry me just as much though. Not convinced we've solved that creativity issue just yet even if we have pumped a few diddy championship sides so far.

We're obviously a better side now with Neilson but the benchmark was so low. You see signs of nice one touch counter attacking like against hibs and Celtic but then you see the first half at dens and it's so desperate.

Naismith was class for us and a great signing. The problem was giving him a 4 year deal with his fitness rather than signing him at all imo.

Our best player but not in anyway worth the money, especially when you factor in the injuries. It was a panic offer as we were picking up virtually no points without him for some time.

This might sound quite strange but one of the things I like is he's never been able to run and likes to grab cocks at corners.

Looks like Prince Philip in that motor. Genuinely would believe that was a masters game he was playing in Monty LewLew

I think I said it earlier in the thread that when you’re bringing players in like Naismith and Berra, players who at their peak would have no business being at hearts you need to be realistic about what you get out of them.  After every season there’s going to be quite a drop off in ability especially when you add in the injury problems they’ve had.

I was going to make the point that if we had maybe reinvested their wages into 3 or 4 younger players for this season the squad would’ve been in a far better shape but you can’t trust hearts to sign 3 or 4 players of decent enough quality Laugh

Having experienced heads in the team makes sense if they're playing alongside a core of young players who they can talk through games, but if they're in there with 27-year-old journeymen then the point is unclear.
