I think you need to have been in a proper loving relationship to relate to Bill Burr's humour.

Quite liked the Romesh thing first series where he went back to his roots with his mum

I think he might've had his dvd out not that long ago but I've been avoiding it incase it's a similar show. He's funny as fuck though, his new thing on BBC was a bit hit and miss. He was going to countries that have a bit of a bad rep and trying to show them for the beautiful places they are. He didn't do a very good job with Bosnia and Mongolia I'd quite like to catch a Katherine Ryan show as well but whenever she's been at the festival it's only been for a night here and there.

If you're a man of mid 20s - mid 30s who browses the internet, especially youtube etc.. then you've seen hours and hours of Bill Burr, whether you want to or not. The algorithm strangles you with Bill Burr, George Carlin, Joe Rogan etc... impossible to escape it. I'm not hinting at anything tbh, just saying they are completely different. Burr has that blue collar Boston guy thing which is mostly like guys in a pub venting about mundane shit over a beer. His special actually starts off heavy on the whole US cultural war tedious shit but quickly gets into classic burr. I find his anger and alcohol issues relatable Boyle is a good guy, shame about the whole rabid tim thing. I would agree that his act is wearing a bit thin these days. Don't mind his subject matter - US Politics/US culture/when women have to do their make-up before they leave the house/when people skip the queue/when people eat food noisely at the cinema - all very much standard comedy banter, but his delivery is grating. I agree with Rog in the sense that Burr's comedy is a "I totally relate!" observational type comedy. For example if you're a father and you know that feeling of the baby greeting and Burr goes on some epic rant about how he was pure seething that the baby was greeting but had to hold it in then you are like, "man, I know that too well". I prefer comedy that is a bit more "out there" and you can just dip into their mad world and you don't need to share the same observations/life experiences as the stand up. Also hate Louis CK. Thought he was odd (obsessed with painting himself as the sad clown) and was delighted to hear he exposed/mastuerbated himself to unsuspecting females as it justified my dislike for him

I hate dicks like this in comedy as well. If you can't see why dave chapelle is fucking amazing and the jokes he writes are far more complex than what they seem then you are wrong!!!! The critics on RT gave him a poor score because to a lot of people it's a poor show, the fans gave him 99% because he has a cult like following who will back him regardless. Humour is subjective, if you don't like a certain comedian then it's not the end of the world. The way some people are acting about this as if its some SJW crusade on comedians is embarrassing. The show imo really wasn't that good from what i seen and definitely not worth backing it to the lengths some are going. I really like frankie boyle but that channel 4 stage where he was ripping into Katie prices son was a terrible part of his career as the jokes weren't clever at all. You can criticise your favourite comedians and artists, not everything they do is going to be amazing

Saw him when he was down in my neck of the woods earlier in the tour, really good show Quite unusual as a live show in that it's basically a succession of a load of jokes and some audience patter rather a classic stand-up 'show' with a theme through it, but he did comfortably over two hours which was pretty impressive too.
