Read an article through the week about this subject. It was praising him for doing all this pish - he seems to just genuinely love doing movies and is just doing it for the enjoyment. The article praised him for carrying on despite the pelters, whereas Hackman etc have fucked off our screens and will probably never be seen on one again.
I'm torn. I don't mind him pissing about in whatever shit he wants in his twilight years, but I certainly don't want to watch any of it

Nobody looks back on bestie's career and thinks of him strutting his stuff at easter road. The closest you'll come is a "lou reed? some of his solo stuff's no bad" style conversation.
So it doesn't really matter if de niro fucks around and is happy, his legacy is assured. It's just frustrating as there must've been a few great roles he could've done and squeezed in between rocky and bullwinkle. Had Philip Seymour Hoffman lived you can guarantee he'd have embraced all he could've done as an older actor, de niro just seems to have given up.
If you're going to be utterly indulgent in your twilight then you should be tilting at windmills. He should be grateful he's at a point where he can play King Lear, rather than an old man who leers.

Just saw the 'Being Frank' episode of Always Sunny in this vein
What aspect? Just think it looks like a classic hard-man-renegade-cop against corruption type thing. Mindless entertainment for a few hours IMO

Love that kind of film, but France-related content has to be very pretentious for me to like it. Move that film to London or something and remake the Paris one with Vincent Cassel in a smoky bistro talking about things we never get to see, that would be my advice to the filmmakers.
