attitude era podcast is great if you liked wrestling at that time. not so much if not

judge john hodgman is glorious. if you don't know him he's kinda an american stephen fry, but not really, and the podcast is him presiding over stupid arguments between friends and partners. It makes me smile.

no such thing as a fish is the QI podcast, so get it if you like QI.

doug stanhopes podcast is basically him getting drunk and telling stories with his pals. First dozen episodes are poor as whatever format they're going for is awful, then they dropped the format and it's a good laugh.

Me? In the car to and from work. Sometimes in the evenings.

The commute makes sense. I basically have to walk up the street to my work so it's not really akin to Roger's 2 hours on the bus every morning. I was always one for tunes when I was driving into work, but when I move will have to commute in so podcasts might become viable.

BTW as an aside, anyone else get the utter seethe at the accents (that fucking accent man) on Good Morning Scotland on the radio? Unbelievable.

Commute, walking the dog, running, cooking dinner, doing the grocery shop. If the wife is out I often stick a podcast on rather than watching telly - I usually end up playing internets anyway, so a podcast is better suited to that rather than missing out on the visual aspect of telly. That, and telly is largely awful. If it's good i record it or download it.

Some podcasts are only 20 mins long and do for a burl round the block with the dog. Others are an hour/hour and a half and are more suited to a run.

If anyone is interested, my mate does a film podcast called the High Hat film podcast. It's a podcast about films. I pop up from time to time...

I'm only 45 minutes. Should be 30 with no roadworks. Don't really understand Podcasts myself. I kind of get it in the car, when you have to concentrate on the road and it's easy to tune in to someone talking. Can't imagine sitting on the bus listening to some boys gassing away. What do I do with my other senses? I'd end up just zoning out and thinking about something else.

The trick is to find an interesting podcast that you want to listen to.

It's not the content I'm worried about 2Na, it's my ability to concentrate on it whilst having my eyes free to focus on whatever they want and for my mind to wander.

As an aside you should download the ThisAmericanLife app for your phone. it's about £2 and gives you access to stream / download all of their 500+ episodes.

Once you do that, go and listen to the Dr Gilmer and Mr Hyde episode immediately.

If the content is good then you'll be able to concentrate, no? That's what being interested is.

Anyway, it seems podcasts in anything other than a darkened room aren't for you.

Distraction Pieces has been excellent since it started a few months back.

Pip stutters though, which is a little distracting at first but you don't notice it after a while.
