Biden's VP pick is going to be important as I'd be shocked if he made the 4 years (if elected).

I still can't get over how terrible a choice Biden is.
He's running to solve problems he had a major hand in creating in the first fucking place and that's before you get into the creepiness. Amy Klobuchar is being vetted for VP pick, supposedly quite a few people refused to work for her campaign because of her history of abusing her staff. Bog-standard corporate centrist from the mid-west is just what's needed to get the people out to vote. Those poor Whitehouse interns if they win.
Was thinking about Biden yesterday - I reckon the Democrats have made a decision to appeal to elderly Republicans rather than young Bernie Bros, since they're the ones who actually go out and vote. They're probably thinking their best chance of beating Trump is winning over enough grey votes in swing states with someone who still thinks socialism is bad but who at least looks like a statesman sometimes.
Edit: still got no idea why any of the Dems apart from Sanders were running - what their ticket is other than "Not Trump". Clinton felt it was her right to be president but didn't actually have a platform to appeal to voters other than being a woman, and I don't think I've ever heard Biden come out and say what he actually wants to do as president other than not be Trump.

Think it's underselling things a bit to suggest that a white presidential candidate who argued against desegregation telling black people they aren't black is just 'an off the cuff remark'. As you say, with Trump it's the norm and we've spent five years hearing about all his various awful views. Biden, in theory at least, is meant to be the better option, and right now is meant to be making overtures to black voters (among others).

I realise I've undersold it a bit, it's not a smart thing to have said and I've no sympathy for the clown for saying something quite clearly racist and stupid, particularly when you know that anything like that is going to be pounced upon but Trump and his crew.

I saw that Donald Trump's snapchat account tweeted out the Ghana Says Goodbye meme with Biden's campaign logo on the coffin
The Right are just better at modern politics.

Biden is a sexual predator. I don't see why the democrats couldn't choose someone who isn't a sexual predator? Funny how the same bozos always end up running things isn't it.

I think you're giving the Dems way too much credit there, they were all about stopping Bernie first and foremost. Appealing to moderate Republicans was, is, and always will be a losing strategy - Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, Kerry, and Clinton all ran losing efforts on a similar platform in the last 35 years. Even Bill Clinton's 1992 win relied heavily on a unprecedented third party showing by Ross Perot. Obama's decisive win was a result of people thinking he actually stood for something different, he didn't, but the hope got people out to vote in record numbers. The primary process is a joke, almost half the states never got to cast a vote before it was all over and the states that called it will almost certainly go Republican in the general. It's all about having enough money to get through it so it's almost always going to be someone awash with corporate cash who makes it to the end. Ranked choice voting would be a start. So many people I see supporting Biden always start their appeal with "he wasn't my first choice, but at least he's not Trump..." Now you have a campaign that's going to play out online and the DNC just spit in the eye of the candidate with a large and passionate online support.
