Whats the best brand for veggie foods these days?

Always thought LMc's was a bit hit and miss. Quorn. I've only ever had a few things in the past. Their lasagne is quite nice.

Got the Tesco Plant Chef Garlic Kievs for tonight. Actually just checked their reviews (eek!).

Anyway, is there a decent brand or store brand that have a good variety that taste alright?

Been slowly cutting out meat for a while and looking to do a bit more.

This is a decent range

https://wickedkitchen.com/uk/all-plant-b...-products/

I was a fan of Linda McCartney sausages but used to prefer them well done on the BBQ

Richmond do nice veggie sausages(a lot smaller than the LMc ones)

Went through a spell of having mcsweens veggie haggis all the time, it’s lovely once in a blue moon.

You can get the Beyond Meat stuff in a lot of supermarkets these days - have had them in Honest Burger a few times and they're great, seem to go well on the BBQ too.

Think they do more than just burgers but not sure what the rest of the stuff's like.

Kept the Kiev's for tonight.

Had this -

I used tortilla wraps instead of pitta breads. I honestly struggle to cut pitta breads. Do you cut them once they are cooked/toasted? I end up cutting right through them.

Anyway, the kebab meat is actually really nice. I fried a bit red pepper and red onion. Garlic mayo and hot Sriracha sauce.

They’re hollow in the middle most of the time so they should just peel open

The supermarket ones seem to be stuck and then when you try to cut them open it just becomes a mess for me. Monty Umm

Best to slightly wet the pittas before putting them in so they don't dry out and flake away. Or wrap in foil.

Bought this from Waitrose.

Was £3.50. Weighing in at 8% of the meal was the beef protein. 400g meal.

Sainsbury's has similar at 400g with British beef at 16% of the meal.

I havent tried Sainsbury's one but the Waitrose vegan one was quite nice.

But how can pea protein be so much more expensive than beef?

Bizarre.

Fucking £5 for a small tray about an inch deep with food.
Walked out in disgust.

I will edit my initial post. The beef had surprisingly good texture. I just wish there was a wee bit more. But still, pleasantly suprised. I will buy it again for sure.

You didn't mention the price.
And if the price doesn't matter, surely you would have just bought 2?

£2.50 is decent.
Sainsbury's have been lowering their prices to compete with Aldi, apparently.
About time.
