I've got news for you san. Scotland and Ireland have roughly the same population.
Ireland are building their team back up with some exciting players the same way we did after losing to Khazakstan a few years back.
Their goalie and that striker both newish into the team and they look very good.
Just looked them up - 20 and 22
Enjoy the win and stop pretending we are Brazil, Ally Mcleod
Delighted for the two of them. It's a great coup for us as a club as well that two boys who were nowhere near a Scotland call-up have come to Hearts for a year or two and worked their way into the squad.

Who do you start beside Hendry at CB? Porteous, Gallagher or Kingsley?
Let the inevitable hate rain down on me, but I think you have to put faith in Porteous and see if he sink or swims. He's been in the squad the whole stint working on shape in all the training sessions, he's got the athleticism required for international football. You've got to hope under Clarke he might be more disciplined than when playing for Hibs.
Risky of course.
Gallagher and Kingsley have rocked up in the last few hours, Kingsley has only played a handful of games as a CB in a back 4 in his whole career. I know the jammy wearers will do their cry thing if he's not selected because they view him (understandably) as a better player than Porteous and Gallagher, but there is quite a lot of variables at play here.
Has porteous not been horrific this season though? Pretty sure hibs fans have only started backing him because of the rinsing he's been getting off everyone else - I thought they were all pretty much in agreement he's been shite
On form alone it should be Kingsley but I'd rather he was left out for fitness reasons. Gallagher and porteous probably offer about the same for me so either or really.
