I work in the city centre and went out for a walk yesterday lunchtime, whole of town was packed with teams of teenagers heading to transmit.
Think the oldest person I saw would've been early twenties at best, rest were all youngsters.
For some reason my brain always wants to pronounce it "Transmat". Can't get it to stop. Thankfully I'm far too old to ever have to actually talk about it.

BBC Scotch Wireless just had these lads on .... video ruined by flying chunky lyrics but least they knocked Kate off her pedestal, I never liked that song first time round!
Heading to see Sam Fender with Fontaines DC on support tonight
It's a big open air thing with 40,000 people and a load of those will have been there since half 2 this afternoon. What could possibly go wrong in 28-odd degree heat

If anybody is interested, Jamelia is doing a look at Brummie, East Midlands (might be West Mid, I'm drunk!) music. Two part, R4 thingy. see link below; doesn't take you to it I don't think! Still, while the first 20 mins are a bit shit/cringe you do actually get that the city/region is a remarakably rich source of musical talent.
