Two years ago today, cutting about Yosemite National Park. One of the best places I've been in my life.

Two years ago at the Golden Gate Bridge. Didn't expect there to be so much fog in San Francisco or it to be freezing cold in August  Monty But

Very cool place though.

Been getting all nostalgic looking through my photos the last few days but disappointed at how shit I am at taking them. Got 1 blurry as fuck photo of the Grand Canyon and then the other three from that day are of a squirrel that I fed half my sandwich to and a few Haribo until this Welsh lassie started shouting at me about breaking federal laws  Monty But

Reminds me of the time I went to Lake Moraine as a 15 year old. Here’s a picture I’ve taken from Google.

Probably one of the most naturally beautiful places I’ve ever been in my life and obviously too young and stupid to take any notice of it. This is the only photo I decided to take.

Beautiful place that.

I think I'm too thick to appreciate these things fully to be honest. I mind seeing the Grand Canyon and being buzzing for about 5 minutes looking at it and then that was it. Walked away down into it for hours but that squirrel is the only thing I really remember other than feeling like the heat was going to kill me. Done coke in this mental boy from Leeds tent the night before and ended up being up until about 7 in the morning. Found out a few days later you can get about 10 years for having class A's in a national park   Monty But

Drove by it one day and it wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. Must admit that this evening it looked nuclear! Might walk down the street and have a wee looky looky the now, now that it's pitch dark. Quite Good

Couple of mates were saying the aurora borealis was visible from the Prom last week Quite Good

Thought the intrepid pondy might have been on the case.

Aye, saw a pic on Edin Reddit (from EdinLive), and it was, Quite Good would have been nice to see in person however. I've found that typically these phones (and cameras) tend to make aurora look better than it is IRL, which maybe seems a bit odd.

The scenes of the northern lights in the film Gravity, where she's also hearing various HF SBX-11A tranceiver conversations between Inuit groups as she flies over Baffin Island is a highlight for me.  They don't produce the Spillsbury anymore and they're rarely used nowadays (sat phones and reg phones with a fancy GPS instead) but I spent many a night in a cabin or tent in the winter months especially, listening to conversations between folks in Greenland, northern Canada, and most weirdly what I can only describe as this unusual sort of Japanese wah-wah pedalled Xylophone music. Who was broadcasting it I've always wondered. Outside the cabin on a clear night the sky was awash with stars!

Anyway, here's the one at Porty .... still, I'll take it as a substitute. Sob

My mate and I sat up until the wee hours looking for it a few years ago one summer's evening when it was rumoured to be visible. Wind up Lampoon

Got a chase off the scheme team at the Shell garage when I was returning home and they decided I looked like a good victim for a doing Monty Chuckle
