He's not actually that horrible a guy. I think people lump him in with riordan or o Connor.
At school Griffiths would be the daftie in your friend group, always getting into hot water. While riordan and that you would keep at arms length as they are bad news.

Ryan Christie gives a big passionate speech on how they're glad they could do it for everyone in the country after a tough year, in tears infront of everyone as you can see how much it means to him.
Griffiths is straight to slagging off old rangers players There's one thing for certain if any player was going to be involved in some sort of Twitter controversy this morning it would be him.
Exactly what I was thinking. Why does he always put himself in these situations!. How many Celtic and Ex-Celtic players were in that Scotland squad last night - yet you could have bet your mortgage it would be Griffiths who would try turn a Scotland victory into a Rangers v Celtic thing.

Doesn't do himself any favours.
The only people doing this are the folk trying to turn a guy liking a tweet into the news story of the year
You could bet it would be Griffiths because nobody would give a fuck if it had been anyone else

Agree it's a bit of a non-story like.
Do find it weird how sensitive some Hearts fans get tho whenever Griffiths is involved in a controversy. Given his history of racism and xenophobia to club legends.

Maybe some people just see an Edinburgh guy not dissimilar from our own mates who has been suicidal directly from social media abuse so try to show a bit of understanding and humanity.

As someone who sang much worse songs when I was the age Griffiths was when the Skacel thing happened, as I imagine many of us did, I think maybe people could drop the 'but he's a RACIST' patter tbh.
He's done some daft things in the past, but this one is a non-story, and seeing people pile on to a guy with a history of mental health problems over it is genuinely unpleasant.

So weird!
But the same Hearts fans will jump on any controversy surrounding Neil Lennon who has had similar documented mental health problems.

You're making out like Griffiths is loved on here Everyone knows he's thick as mince, it goes without saying. But when he's just scored a penalty to take us to the Euro's and is guilty of liking a tweet then apologising I think it's time to give him a break.

I am really not, mate. All I said was I found it weird how SOME Hearts fans get really sensitive whenever Griffiths does something daft.
I wasn't even really specifically meaning on this board.
I agree with the rest of your post though. The whole thing is a non-story.
I think part of the reason hearts fans are a bit more lenient with Griffiths is he isn't as malicious as your riordans etc and can give and take a bit of banter.
A lot is made of him singing songs but as Mak said, most of those having a go will have sang worse. I know I have.
He's always going to be caught up in these situations. Scrolling through Instagram to get it up folk when you're celebrating a massive win in the changing rooms is weird as fuck.
I think Griffiths is fairly harmless. He seems like a decent guy overall - he can clearly give and take and unlike with Riordan and O'Connor, the Derby interactions were lighthearted and fun rather than dark and xenophobic.
In this situation he finds himself in bother because he's daft. But it's clear he didn't realise and liked it as a GIRUY to the proddie/big Rangers fan. Typical football 'banter'.

He must be the oldest “silly wee laddie†in football.

It's not really that incredible given that, as you said yourself, he's as thick as mince
He's the kind of harmless daftie who gets himself into trouble out of sheer stupidity that I think we've all known. The difference is that, as a Celtic and Scotland player, he's in the public eye. Don't think anyone's arguing he's a great guy, just that these stories are consistently blown out of proportion.
