Take that as meaning Hearts have produced far more decent players in that time, aye?
Take it as I can't be fucked going online to prove my point. Certainly not cos you've said last 20 years for some reason. I'm judging Budge and Levein. Not Tommy McLean ffs.
I'm no happy with our Academy. You are. Let's not try to change each others minds. Forums teach us that's pointless.

Tommy McLean was nearer 30 years ago than 20
How can a club be “consistently better†at producing players over such a short timescale as 5 years Just for info, Motherwell started their last game with 2 players from their academy in the line up, we started with 3.
Not a single person has said they're happy with the academy, so stop putting words in people's mouths and stop talking absolute pish please.

Appreciate your honesty
Come on, man. They have been consistently better than us for twenty years, so you must be able to mention a few wonderkids that came out of La Masia de Lanarkshire. Certainly enough to show that they are much better than us at developing young players.

In our first team squad, the recent products of our youth system are: Aaron Hickey, Harry Cochrane, Anthony MacDonald, Andy Irving, Euan Henderson, Jamie Brandon and Callumn Morrison.
The latter 3 probably won't make it at Hearts but will have decent careers. Irving could go either way. Hickey, Cochrane and MacDonald will develop into very good players.
Connor Smith and Chris Hamilton are at Cowdenbeath on loan and doing well.
That's really not that bad for an academy that's supposedly shambolic.
Also, every pars fan I spoke to said "he has definitely got something about him" and spoke about 'instinct', and stuff like "he will definitely make it" but he just never showed it for the first team. I wonder if it was a mentality thing/nerves?
He's not a goalscorer but Henderson has really surprised me in showing a lot more than it looked like he had. Early days yet though.
I'm sure i read a piece by some statto guy a few years ago that said that henderson was prolific in youth football. Like, massively ahead of anyone at the club and almost anyone in Scotland.
Clearly it's a massive jump, we manage it so seldom, but Henderson - apparently - has the attributes to be a goalscorer. Won't hold my breath mind.
