Heard it's a guy with experience coaching in Cyprus who has since been instrumental in the innovative B team set up Brentford have used to replace their academy.

He did. I think it was used to avoid saying definitively the new guy is Scotch though.

The boy also said the SD already knows who they want as Head Coach but people won't necessarily like the choice.

SD = Davie Weir
HC = Neil McCann (Alan Stubbs anyone? Eek)

Wouldn’t be against weir tbh. Very highly rated. If it was to be McCann then at least we know they work well together.

Could do worse than that set up.

The roller coaster of Takis to Davie Weir was quite disappointing reading through this but Weir isn’t a bad shout tbf. Fits the ex-player criteria that Budge seems to relish as well.

Weir's transformation into a big Rainjurs man was remarkable. Soured it a bit for me tbh.

If it is him I'll need to spend an evening re-watching his tackle on Gattuso (?) at the end of the 98 final to get the good vibes back.

Did he not do a sports science degree in the states before coming back to start playing?

Agreed that he's a dirty hun, but we've had worse come in an become heros. Weir starts from a higher field than the likes of Mahe or (the returning) Andy Webster.

I think he did it before joining Falkirk originally? Had a Soccer ( Beardy ) scholarship as I recall.

Yep he went to college in Indiana on a scholarship before returning home where he signed for JJ’s Falkirk. He of course then brought him to Hearts where he was part of the legendary 98 side.

If the job criteria was ex player and British he’s one of very very few who would have the presence, background, ability to communicate  and football contacts for the job.

Big Dunc as head coach under him as DoF?!!
