He might not be the greatest manager in the world, but at least Gareth Southgate seems open to changing things up and trying new ideas. He seems quite keen to revamp the whole England set up from top to bottom, wants players to try and move abroad of staying in the Premiership for example.
Even his latest squad he's trying new things. He's brought the likes of Michael Keane, Nathan Redmond and Jake Livermore into the squad. He's recalled Jermain Defoe because of the form he's in, something our manager is completely incapable of doing. Last night England went with three at the back. Southgate is trying to experiment with his squad and seeing what works best. I watched most of their game last night and England had quite a few chances, in fact they probably should have won quite easily.
Meanwhile Scotland are stuck with some stone age dinosaur Hibs cunt who won't call up certain players out of spite. A friendly at home to Canada and he starts with most of the usual suspects. The boring and bland 4-1-4-1 formation with no surprises at all in the team selection. The team that started last night will be very similar - with the exception of two or three boys - to the one that starts on Sunday. Aside from reaffirming how fucking hopeless they are, what did Scotland learn from last night?
