Lewis - imagine it will firstly cover costs of the family traveling back and forward. Presume she didn't have insurance so usually costs upwards of about 8k to repatriate the body. Imagine the rest will pay for a nice funeral and hopefully the rest goes to the husband so he's not having to worry about bills and mortgage etc while he comes to terms with losing his wife and tries to rebuild his life.
Is compassion linked to money though?
And if we want to help those bereaved with cash to help them with funeral costs, time off etc. to come to terms would the better system for this not to be have some form of tax, benefit, managed fund were people pay in and it's distributed to all.
