Different scenarios though with the rugby side waiting on big players coming back but still winning, whereas the football side should probably see this as a transitional period and an opportunity to get rid of the deadwood.
Good to see both sides getting good results in difficult circumstances though
The general feeling about the sports is different though. I'd say we feel like the recent football results have come despite McLeish, rather than the rugby team who seem to be progressing under Townsend.
Despite being an established nation in rugby, Scotland are still a relative minnow. Their player base is nowhere near the rest of the teams in the top 10, including Argentina who have beaten Australia and South Africa recently. Any win over a Six Nations side other than Italy is a genuine achievement for Scotland.
It's good to see the football team playing well at time and winning their recent matches, but Israel and Albania are shite, lets not pretend otherwise.
It's correct to say there's far fewer countries who play top level rugby, but in Scotland it's very much a minority sport and they are definitely on the up at the moment.
I watched it and enjoyed it. A scrappy victory but a win. I want to see Scotland win in tiddlywinks so
