Aye, netflix. As you say, it feeds in to a heady time in american culture. The range and friction between cultures is pretty intense; this is a portrait of two rather waspish gentlement. Although one was catholic and the other anything but christian. However, the point with lots of groups feeling disenfranchised (or at best misrepresented) is that they're not often invited to a series of ten nightly debates on prime time TV.
Also watched 'muscle shoals' and 'the wrecking crew', which are both docus about session musicians. They're inferior to 20ft from stardom, but worth sitting through for the moments where they talk about artists that you like.
