Five players would be a lot for diddy teams though, definitely. Should just make it so that teams can make players in their development squads available for the 'draft' (whether it be one or ten) and make it championship only. If a player doesn't get drafted then the club can send them where they like.
Nah, because then you end up with the best players playing at the lowest standard. It's still the worst team getting the best players because the worst team in each league picks first, and the Championship teams aren't competing with the League 1/League 2 teams.
If it's to get first team football for 17/18/19 year olds then it needs to be all three leagues really, not enough players at that age would be good enough to get regular games in the Championship. I'm thinking if we did it now, who would we list? Maybe Zanatta, but more likely guys like Beith, Buchanan, McKirdy, the Smiths. Few of them would probably be better down a league from the Championship.
