It is great for watching rugby and there can be a sensational atmosphere there for big games. I was very near the Rangers fans for our game there earlier in the season and they made an impressive noise in a half empty stadium.
Murrayfield has superb transport links, has great provision for catering in the grounds and isnt in the arse end of Glasgow.
Also, Hampden is shite for watching football.
I've been to sell out rugby matches, a sell out Barcelona game and about 10 competitive Hearts games. It generates an alright atmosphere, nothing special in my experience. Obviously can't judge them as if it is Scotland v England in football but I just don't like it. I don't really like the idea of strolling up to a familiar area for a cup final. Just doesn't feel right to me. I love leaving early for Hampden on a bus with your mates and making a day of it.
Also associate it with Pieman.
