Alexander >>>> MacDonald >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hamilton.
One of the great fears I've seen expressed by a few on here is that Hearts are turning into Hibs, and Hibs into Hearts. The prosecution presents:
Exhibit A: Rolling over and playing horrendously in derbies
Exhibit B: An obsession with one match in the past
Exhibit C: Our rivals having got the monkey off their backs and no longer being a laughing stock
Exhibit D: Taking perverse pride in how 'well run' the club is, while the team is shite
Exhibit E: Appointing a hipster management team because we want to play football 'the right way'
Exhibit F: Crap goalkeepers.
From Niemi to Gordon to the wildly underrated Kello, we've been spoilt by goalkeepers over the years. Rousset and Smith were generally very good, if a bit accident-prone at times; and even The Balogh or Jamie Mac were basically fine in a way they never would've been had they played for Hibs instead.
It's different now. And with Hibs having won the Cup with the most unlikely figure in goal ever, maybe their future custodians will no longer magically morph into Frank Spencer when donning the gloves there. Changed and worrying days.
