Just watched all of Ronaldo's goals, 760 in 1hr27minutes. and Messi's 700 in 58 minutes.
Anyway, a few comments ...
- I stand by the Smash ins and Tap-ins comment, Beggers.
- Some great smash-ins to be fair, and quite a bit of intuition luck on the tap-ins too.
- Most of his goals are simply first time shots, occasionally two touches. Some good dribbles too but they're not particulalry a notable feature of his goal-scoring.
- Seems most of his impossible free-kicks were with that purple and yellow shiny ball.
- Almost all his goals only involve him, as in he's put in or team mate crosses onto his noggin (or he takes a dive to win a pen). Very rarely, I don't actually recall if he even played a single one-two. surely he must have scored at least one 'playing' with another team mate.
- Some of his headers are outrageous but Messi scored two from further out than he ever has.
- His recent collection from Turin is actually despite the obvious haul of pens.
- Very few volleys, well pure/spectacular ones anyway. in fact both of them have just a few.
- Don't think Messi has ever scored a bicycle kick.
- Messi had already scored more chips in his first twenty than Ronaldo did in his entire career.
- Messi's goals have way more interplay with team mates.
- Messi chips goslds in for fun.
- Messi passes more goals, if you discount Ronaldo's uncontested tap-ins.
- Messi 's goals just appear to be more measured, more controlled. Always felt that while Messi's career goals per game are better he's also more deadly, as I'm sure you can find a stat out there that shows what their shots/goals ratio is and I suspect that would look decidedly shit for Ronaldo.
Back to the two Goal Highlights videos, well Ronaldo's lasts 29 minutes longer to show 60 more goals (think he actually has 719). The interesting thing about that is that every one of Ronaldo's goals has a replay which could suggest that it's simply a function of the editing but what it tells me is that Messi's goals are longer, more involved/complicated.
We haven't even got to the dribbling or passing.
Anyway. folks check them out for yourself. Enjoy.
