A dark day for UK/English politics.
- Senior cabinet members one after the other coming out to excuse the inexcusable - even the Attorney General is out saying it's okay to break the rules.
- The defence is it's okay because Dominic Cummings truly cares about his son. The insinuation, of course, being that it if you observed the social distancing measures in a tough situation you don't care about your kids, I suppose?
- The Prime Minister holed up in his bedroom waiting for it all to blow over. Either that or he has no idea what is happening because he doesn't work weekends.
- The BBC's political editor running interference directly from DC's mouth.
- The person at the centre of it just wandering about without a care in the world arrogantly dismissing journalists.
- The journalists themselves being too scared of losing their favouritism or being too shit at their job to actually hold the government to account.
- All of this whilst the overriding theme is 'we can do what we want, you peasants stick to the rules'.
FUCKING MADNESS. This country is so so fucked
Say what you want about Sturgeon, but she clearly played the Catherine Calderwood situation spot on.
