We did black history at school but it was all about MLK and the civil rights movement in America. Didn't really learn anything about Britain or people coming from the Commonwealth etc.
Only bit of history about black people in Scotland I knew until I was about 25 was my gran trying to pay a Jamaican bus conductor with a fiver and him saying, 'Where do you want to go Madam, to the moon?'
