Andaluz is amazing, should definitely try the Chorizo and Black Pudding in Spicy Tomato.

Stockbridge restaurant is decent, pricey though. Usually save that one for special occasions

was at mother india's last night, food was fantastic as always but they could do with adding a few new dishes to the menu, I don't think its changed much since I first went there 5/6 years ago

Its pretty crap presentation wise unless they have tarted it up since the last time I went but the actual wings were quite tasty. Seemed the sort of hangout for Hive wankers tbh Warnock

Food is probably definitely one of the few things Edinburgh's better for than Glasgow.

Wings is pretty overrated I found, decent enough if you don't go with really high expectations though.

Dunno, think i'd disagree there.

Glasgow has a lot more variety i'd say. I'd definitely choose to eat in Glasgow over Edinburgh.

Glasgow's best doesn't come close to Edinburgh though.

Sure there's tons of burger places, decent thai and Indians but if you want something really excellent you can't get it.

Hopefully not on the basis of chain restaurant cafe andaluz, which is also in Glasgow. Laugh

Let me make it clear that I don't want to do a Floyd here and start jumping to Glasgow's defence every time it's mentioned though.

Glasgow is Number one for burgers and curries M80s.

Not at all, they're comparable on places like that. Glasgow has better curry houses (personally love the Shish Mahal) but it just doesn't have somewhere like a Castle Terrace or similar.

Yeah true.

I was meaning more for just randomly eating out and cafes etc.

Was at some "soul food" place in Glasgow not that long ago. Pretty decent never been to that type of place before.

Andaluz is outstanding scran and pretty well priced for what it is.

Have they still got that glass covered outdoor bit on George Street? Sat there last time, lovely place to sit with a bottle of wine and views of the castle. Made even better getting to watch folk on their lunch breaks rushing around and seething at the increased traffic on the other side of the road. A real sore point on kickback, IIRC. Greggy

Cafà Marlayne is decent if you like French food. Both restaurants are quite wee places but decent menu and really nice scran.

Also, Cafe Andaluz is the tits. Only been to the one in Glasgow but as it's a chain I can only assume the Edinburgh branch is equally as good.
