1. Have new DIY problem.

2. Think "Oh aye - I posted a DIY thread on TalkHearts a while ago - they'll help me out."

3. Search for and re-read this thread. Heart sinks. Warnock Eek

Just in case: need to do something about the carpets in my place if I'm going to be renting it out shortly. My fucking cats have rekt them. Muggy

There're about 4-5 doorways like that, but that one's the worst. I can't afford to replace the entire carpet. Would a carpet reducer be a viable option?

Nice carpets Eek

Would love to see a room divider (if that's what youre talking about) big enough for that gap Laugh

Can you not manage some cheap £4.99 sq/m carpets? You'll rent it out a lot quicker I'd imagine. I done 3 bedrooms, upstairs landing and stairs for about £500 when I moved in to my house.

Cats really are scum.

Can you not get some piece of metal or wood that goes over the ends of both carpets and secures them onto the floor.

Can't be arsed paying the best part of £1000 to have someone do that shit for me (would never be able to face laying my own carpet). Fat Cunt

Might just stuff the gaps with soiled rags. Quite Good

Never seen a room divider that big. Would look a bit weird if it covered inside the room too...as Mags said, a sheet of metal might work, but your house will look like a crack den.

Get fresh carpets on the cheap from carpet right and fresh carpets will put £10/£20p/m onto your rental price anyway.

As in, square metres? No. Sob Might have the dimensions on a prospectus from when the flat was built.

Why is life so hard. Sob
