Never had to use insurance in my life, starting to think it's a waste of money.

Just cancel it mate, I’m sure the cops will just turn a blind eye if they see you.

Ha, I actually had the "cops" (it's no America, mate) follow me through Livingston the other week after dropping my dad off at the hospital.
I felt like pulling over and asking what the fuck they were playing at, more important things they could be doing.

And STILL.... no got my car back!
But if anyone needs a couch shifted, i'm your man, going about in a 160k mile van the now.
Might actually start leasing cars from now on, quite like driving something different.

On PCP at the moment and had my car for a year. Arnold Clark have phoned me to come in because they want to buy it back off me. Got 17k worth to pay on my finance and they’ll buy it back for 19.1k.

Looking to just start leasing new cars now if I can get rid of the car this week and just hand it back every couple of year, think that’s the way to go these days.

Looking for advice about cars with decent boots because I’ve quickly found out the boot on my car is too wee Warnock

The missus has a Renault Kadjar and the boot is like a cave. Laugh

Plenty space and putting the back seats down is a doddle if you’re needing extra space to move stuff, but in the main the boot space itself is huge.

Boot space in my car isn’t that great, but it does me for all I use it for.

Whats behind that, is it due to the shortage of cars and the price going up?

I'd recommend a business lease, put it through the restaurant.

Shortage of new cars because they’re waiting on chips or something like that so the price of used cars is going up and up.

I’ll speak to the accountant about that. I couldn’t put the PCP through the restaurant for some reason. Something to do with having to put the whole value of the car when it was new through as a depreciating asset. Didn’t understand it all

Crazy. Seems to be the same in the States as well. Tidy profit for you. Shitwine

My lease is up next June, can't believe that will be 4 years I'll have had the CLA45. Only done about 18,000 miles as well and it's in pristine nick, someone will be getting a bargain on the used market next year. Laugh Such a good car.

Would consider buying it off them if I had the chance, but that's fairly unlikely so been looking at a few hybrids, would be great to use the EV drivetrain for commuting/going to the shops etc. Would love to see AMG release a proper hybrid or EV in a few years.

Both of these on the list:

That peugeot looks the business tbf.

I'm thinking about not running a car in the future (different story if i have bairns, i understand that). I wonder how long an Uber/driverless car model comes in? Not really a fan of it as I like being behind the wheel, but would be convenient not to have to own the car, paying all the insurance and repairs.

It's probably about time I think about a new car.

I paid mine off years ago and the thought of going from paying nothing to a couple hundred a month is grim Monty Oh Well especially when I don't drive much.

Thinking it may be time to look at going electric

Don't drive much! Going electric! That seems a big investment for small returns, tbqh. It'll just deteriorate and fall apart.

I appreciate the convenience of a car but if they could make it almost as easy as .. Right, I need to get down to B&Q this morning to get that sturdy bog brush, I'd be all for just walking round the corner and flashing my phone at wee EV on tap BUT I fear that is still a long way away.
