Rise of Skywalker - 6/10

Didn't hate it but not particularly memorable.

The stormtrooper thing is a bit off for me, the next group of deserters. So when they take off the mask they're human beings forced into service but when they have their helmets on, they're cannon fodder for the good guys. Bit weird to have Finn so clearly enjoy gunning down his old comrades if that's the case.  Monty Umm

I thought there were some really interesting ideas they just didn't have the guts to commit to.

Spoiler :
Basically every major consequence got overturned immediately. Chewbaca being killed on the transport? He was actually on the other one. C3PO having to wipe his memory? R2 had a back-up. Rey stabbing Kylo? She can heal him, because that's a thing now. That Nazi guy being a spy? How will that work? Oh never mind, he's dead.
I wonder how Kylo Ren will try to make amends for years of war crimes? Oh never mind, he's dead now too. Heh

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker - 6/10

The shiny conclusion to the valuable trilogy. I enjoyed the action and sense of fun but it's naff as fuck and I feel like a twat watching it somehow. My daughter loved it.

I enjoyed it but didn’t really get anything from it. I was hoping for an Avengers Endgame level satisfying conclusion, tie a knot in the third trilogy but didn’t get anything like that.

Also I went through to see it in Stirling at the Vue, £5 a film everyday. The Duloch Odeon is dear in comparison like.

Robin Hood

The taron egerton one. Might actually be the worst movie i've ever seen. It's the standard robin hood starter movie, but stylistically it's a dog's dinner. Nottingham looks like 16th century venice and peaky blinders brum, the outfits are everything from rags to neo fascist, the accents run from australian, to irish to cockney, the action is just assassin creed, and the antagonism is just trump/bush versus antifa.

I don't generally mind a bit of anachronism in film, films are meant to be a bit silly and not academic history. But this has about a dozen different things going on, all the time, and none of them are good. Shame because it's got Ben Mendelsohn, Jamie Foxx and F. Murray Abraham in it and they could be in a great robin hood movie. Not really seen egerton in much, but he's rotten and tim minchin is worse, but atleast has the excuse of not being an actor.

Like i say, probably the worst 'proper' movie i've ever seen. Unless, anyone cares to up the stakes? Oh, and what's the best Robin Hood film; the early nineties non Costner one is on sky cinema and is dece and obviously Disney's is a stone cold classic. Connery's one is great for a change of pace too.

I sat and watched GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra a few weeks ago in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep.

Was flicking through the channels and the opening where Christopher Ecclestone is doing the world's worst Scottish accent caught my attention.

Probably the worst film I've ever seen. Up there with Jack and Jill - the Adam Sandler film.

Decent shout.

Sandler movies are exempt, because Adam Sandler. And they're tax dodges.

The Gambler with Mark Wahlberg would be up there as well. Not even so bad it's enjoyable. Just terribly written, acted and directed and a real relief when the credits rolled.

Another Markie Mark effort - Broken City. Fucking horrendous. Shout out to Russell Crowe playing the Mayor of New York City but cuts about inexplicably in a Franz Beckenbauer Adidas trackie top.

I always go to Ocean Terminal or Livingston Vue. Priced it up for Star Wars and was less than half the price, actually shocking what they charge
