Snowpiercer playing a northern Thatcher was tremendous.

Watched Casting JonBenet the other night. For a morbid topic it was very watchable and quite an interesting format. Worth a look - it's on Netflix and only 1hr20.

I enjoyed it. Like room 237, it's not about what the people are talking about. It's about the people.

That said it's also pretty funny and good at making light of some curious people and their morbid fascination.

Went to see Rage at the film festival last week, which has had excellent reviews. It was billed as a murder mystery, where three different storylines all have a stranger appear, any of whom could be the one who committed a murder shown at the beginning of the film. Decent premise.

It looked great, and Ken Watanabe was in it so that's always a bonus, but it was the most overwrought, pretentious drivel you'll see outside of my posts on TalkHearts. The source material was melodramatic as fuck (Watanabe's character was introduced rescuing his daughter as she'd run away to do sex work), the acting was even more OTT from some of the leads, and it went on for nearly 3 hours. The director was there to do a Q&A afterwards (genuine introduction to a question from the audience: "I found the wonderful soundtrack was one of the major strengths of the picture, and I noticed there that the composer was Mr Sakamoto, who I have a tremendous amount of respect for..." - Mr Sakamoto Rofl ), and you couldn't help but think after the third time he answered a question with the words, "I wanted to explore the themes, which were rage and trust" that there was a lot less going on in it than there needed to be to justify the length. The big problem was trying to make a murder mystery a character study, because he'd spent so much time trying to make the three suspects look like possible murderers and fucking weirdos, that when two of them were revealed as innocent, you couldn't really understand why anyone would have built a relationship with them.

Baby Driver - echoing the thoughts of others on here, very good, great soundtrack. 8/10

It comes at night - Awful. No idea what it was supposed to be at all. When it ended it felt it had gone on for too long but also felt it was only 3/4 of the way through the story. So weird. 3/10

Alien Covenant - 7/10. Pleasantly surprised as I had low expectations. Fassbender was creepy as fuck.

Saw Baby Driver last night. Best film I've seen in a long time. Soundtrack is ridic. Been listening to it at work all morning.
