What's the deal with the attempt to make it look like one take? Heard them chatting with Mendes yesterday but still couldn't work out what they're talking about ... is it basically just following some boy with a note, and they've manged to stretch it into a movie?

I should add the delivery includes them having to cross enemy lines, rather than just a boy nipping down the lines to pass a message to the next trench.

Is it more engaging than Dunkirk? Bit bored of World War films.

Not letting it go.

The most authentic depiction of the horrors of WW1 trench warfare I think I've ever seen.
It barely let's up and you are glad of the few quiet moments to break the tension.
Loved it. Would definitely recommend seeing it on the big screen though.

Saw it last night. It was superb. As you say I've never quite seen anything that makes you feel like you're in the trenches like that. When I saw it was styled as a single take I thought it would be a hard watch but it was gripping from start to finish.
Thought it was excellent.
He used Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Cumberbatch perfectly to pull you out the mud and bleakness.
Thought Cumberbatch nearly stole the show and he was only on screen for about 3 mins.
