Rog kens.

Im not afraid to put out some suggestions to the TH community to try and fill a niche in my wardrobe.

I have chocolate brown chelsea boot, brown chukka, smart black monkstrap shoes, tan smart shoe lace ups and white converse.

Felt I needed one more to bridge the converse/chukka gap and as you can see, still struggling with that. Sad

I like the light grey suede casual desert boots but suede is useless in the changeable scottish weather.

Dire.

Those top ones can't make up their mind about what they want to be and the second are a step away from a pair of mid 90's kickers.

Never worn penny loafers - although a lot of my mates seem to be into them ATM.

Although i am partial to a 'trainer sock' with jeans look - usually trainers though not into it with more formal shoes tbh tbf.

Do wish the top ones were full brogue, but it doesn't put me off. Tried them in the shop and it's a good fit so I'm tempted.

The bottom ones are nothing like Kickers. Assuming you're getting a "wallaby" vibe from them?

Ye, about 2 years ago when they were in Muggy

For clarification I'm not talking proper rolled up ankles on show, the jeans still sit nicely on the shoe.

That's pretty much how I've pegged Chrambo.

Thinks he's a footballer type.

A moccasin vibe yeah. They look better from above though.

Probably because you can see they're not squared off. Stitching is neater/tighter than the moc as well. Not a fan of the suede upper, but it would be covered by jeans.

Going to check the shops just but I'm not hopeful. Big muckle footwear seems to be the order of the day.

If Iwas Oliver Twist I might consider the high-top brogue one. shiny leather for formal occasion only in my book.

Agreed. I'm looking for something not so formal though.

I dunno Rog. You've obviously got your style, just as Scott has his (for example), and I have mine. I don't like boots, only have a single pair of black nu-buck high tops. Still have a pair of brown DM 9(or was in 12) hole boots in a cupboard that I haven't touched in 20 yrs. I did however used to wear DM shoes brown in my younger years, a lot, which went with the corduroy jacket. Still have a couple of pairs of Clark wallabies and a no-brand equivalent, which I got 15 yrs ago and which is still my favourite pair. Otherwise I've always owned a pair of Stan Smiths for kicking about where it doesn't matter, a couple of pairs of NBs or the like, for daily pounding of various city streets, and always a good pair of outdoor walking/cross-training runners. Horses for courses and all that.

Since you asked about the last ones, I personally wouldn't give them a second look.

What about grensons or the like with a vibram sole? Less formal and the sole a little less chunky.
