Documentaries are fantastic for building perspective, giving you a glimpse of a life you couldn't possibly imagine living, to do that makes you a deeper and more considered human. If you ever want to learn anything from history you need to get inside the heads of the people that were there, to empathise with their motives and understand their actions. Some people see this as weak, but really those that would meet crime with brutality are weak mentally and are amazingly short-sighted.
