Not a fan of Clerks, Strikeback or Dogma then? Even Chasing Amy was alright when it came out.

I am. It's those impressive films that make many of his others look unimpressive. For someone with such early promise, Smith hasn't delivered as much as he could have I feel.

Even if you don't wanna listen to it week by week, Ken Levine just did an episode of Talk Salad and it's tremendous. This guy wrote on 5 series of mash, 9 series of cheers, 9 series on frasier and some early episodes of the simpsons. And he's got lots of stories about everyone involved in all these shows and just about how a sit-com comes together.

He took a break for 5 years in the middle of his career to become a play-by-play announcer for various MLB teams. He's a fucking cool guy.

Anyone listen to Joe Rogan? I used to listen to every episode a few years back but now I just pick ones out that sound good. He's had quite a few interesting guests, evolutionary biologists, news reporters, comedians, religious writers, and one of the most interesting guests I listened to was Randall Carlson, a freemason scholar alternative climatologist and catastrophist. Worth a listen.

I've been enjoying Richard Herring's podcasts. Just done one with Limmy.

This one is great. Theroux discussing his encounter with Saville.

^ Listening to this now, Theroux completely turns the tables within 20 minutes and it becomes him interviewing Herring.

Not a podcast but check out the Duolingo app, it's free and pretty good for learning the basics and the game structure is quite good for picking up little bits.

My mate created/wrote Wooden Overcoats, which is a gentle comedy about two competing funeral directors. The Telegraph called it a playful, mysterious little dish "a quietly significant moment in British radio comedy", and I enjoyed it. Worth a go. Quite Good

Back episodes are available on Dan Carlin's website, Alan, cost about a tenner iirc. Googling 'ghosts of the ostfront listen free online' would probably work too.

The Goodfellas Minute

A minute by minute look at goodfellas. Each episode is 10-15mins and goodfellas is fucking awesome. There's a mixture of scorsese, industry and mafia chat, as well as, y'know, what's actually on screen.

Quite Good
