Although DC at that time was also in his entrepreneurial infancy, but of course a millionaire from his race days and had built up good networks over his time in the sport and as commentator.
Tbf to go from bbc newsround presenter to popular lead F1 anchor is decent and then yeah you will come across millionaire/billionaire entrepreneurs routinely in that sport that can give you a leg up.
The bbc f1 coverage of Jake, Eddie, DC and Lee Mackenzie with Brundle and DC on comms and Ted in the paddock was pinnacle F1 coverage.
Sky with Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill, Paul di resta and the others always feels a bit Ladz Ladz Ladz and bias/group think towards the Anglo teams and drivers. Quite like Karun Chandhok though.

Ironically the reason Jake was popular on F1 coverage was his humility and affability.
Now on BT he manspreads in his chair being a wideo to “Lamps, Rio and Stevie G” and being a snidey cunt to the general public. Weird one.
Definitely one day decided to adopt the Gary Vee style of living and had a personality change as a result. #grindset

Blindboy good guy.
Something untrustworthy about that Loki guy but he's a libs wet dream because they get a sado-masochistic rush off being scolded by him. Can't say that there is something off about Loki publicly though as you just get accused of hating schemies

The narrative around Darren McGarvey seems to be that he knows how to speak to working-class people, but it's not at all clear to me that that's even true - as far as I've seen, his biggest fans seem to be middle-class liberals who love the idea of an organic intellectual.
I guess I'm in a similar position to 2na in that I don't want to rubbish his takes for not looking sophisticated to me, someone with a PhD in the humanities (aware of how much of a dick it makes me sound when I say that btw), but the way he'll seem to latch onto whatever's trendy to the point of directly contradicting himself reminds me a bit of a Scottish Joe Rogan at times. It's not about dismissing a working-class/non-uni educated perspective, or at least I hope not, so much as that his lived experience doesn't seem to inform his takes in any interesting way - he's just parroting less developed versions of the lines those uni-educated types are using.
Always torn to an extent on the left-wing media grifters - I think most of the left voices we hear in the media are grifters to some degree, but that doesn't mean they aren't doing something useful by countering the right-wing grifters. Still something that doesn't sit right about it, though. Would put others like Bastani, Sarkar etc in a similar category.
