Do any of the TH poindexters have any recommendations for a Windows antivirus that you can essentially just turn off and it won't keep running in the background tanking the whole laptop while you're trying to set your draft team do important work?

Do you really need dedicated third party antivirus software these days? I just leave it to Windows and occasionally scan with Malwarebytes.

Its Windows Defender that's doing it, you can't turn it off unless you have a 3rd party one. Just want something that does absolutely nothing unless I manually want to scan something

The camera on the MacBook Air is absolutely DISGUSTAN. Any recommendations for a decent external one?

The hard disc in my laptop is gubbed.

Is it easy enough to replace by yourself, or better to take it in somewhere?

What laptop is it?

They’re not as easy to work on as desktops but if you knew a bit you could change the hard drive. Laptops are nippy to put back together though, or can be at least.

Not sure the exact model. It's an HP something or other. Might just take it to a shop, as I can see myself making a cunt of it.

Your laptop might have its own wee dedicated hard drive bay on the bottom and in that case it’s easy as fuck.

Hard to say without knowing what model it is but if you had a go at it yourself and couldn’t get it back together you’ve only done some of the work for the person in the shop anyway.

Yep as Morph says it's all model dependent. It could literally be two screws and a simple swap. Or it could be removing the entire case and I'd avoid that. I did it recently on a 5 year old Lenovo and the screw holes fell off. Couldn't get it back together Laugh

Remember as well you'll then need to install windows from scratch again so will need a windows USB.
