The ZX5 are a great iron. I’m playing the original ZX7’s just now but if I’m playing less when the bairn arrives I might shift to the ZX5’s as they’re a bit friendlier.

I went up 2 shots at the arse end of the year trying to come back too early after breaking my wrist. Back to 5 the target for the season.

I went to SGGT at Swanston and will probably go back there for a driver fitting in the summer.

He did say with the G25 is that with the massive offset, it has a tendency to push everything left, so that took a bit of getting used to with the new ones Warnock

I started this April with a 28 handicap and I’m down to 17 now and I can feel my game improving all the time - except bunkers  Oh Cleese

Had my fitting today and went for a new Stealth 2 - 19 degree 3 Hybrid. Standard shaft.

Tried a stiff shaft and also a low spin 5 wood but nothing was giving me better distance, flight and distribution.

Had a 7 iron fitting with the new P790s and with a lightweight regular shaft was averaging 14 extra yard carry and a similar ball flight which meant it was still stopping with control - will hold off until bonus time in April but they will likely be going in the bag.

Where would you start with a set of clubs for a beginner, don't want to break the bank.

Used to play when I was young and had Donnay clubs Warnock

Sound advice.

Plenty of reviews on YouTube from James Robinson, Peter Finch et al on putting together cheaper second hand beginner sets.
