Won the league the last two years in a row, top of the league this year and replaced by the Betis manager ...

While the honours haven't been that bad tbh the performances have been on the wane for some time now and are really getting a lot worse. Cliched I know but the success they have had has been down to you know who (and ter Stegen). Of course he's not entirely to blame the Board's recruitment has been poor (square pegs in round holes, etc) but he doesn't seem to have been able to motivate them, or indeed set-them up tactically on the big occasions. They've stagnated right across the board, from back to front. A yes man.

Pre-season it looked promising from a midfield perspective with frenkie pulling strings from Busquets position, Alena left and Roberto/Arthur right ... ball was being pinged about and moving forward way more faster. Alena has been loaned out, not sure what's happened to the Brazilian, and Sergi is once again being moved between RMF and RB as they can't seem to make their mind up on Semedo. Valverde seems reluctant to shift Busquets to the bench so instead moves de Jong out of his favoured position, and the other old guard Rakitic and Vidal seem to get the nod too, tho at least the latter has contributed.

Setien likes a gung ho approach so they may well be more fun to watch; end-to-end shoot-out football, whoever scores more wins!

Don't think they'll win anything (may scrape the league) but at least they'll be more enjoyable to watch.

This. Doesn't help either that key players like Alba, Rakitic and Pique are well past their best.

Valverde isn't a bad coach but he's not a good motivator and he never has a plan b.

Setien is a laugh though. Barca will be the most entertaining team to watch. Attacking all the time and fuck the defence. Might be quite successful with ter Stegen in goals.

They need a massive overhaul in summer though. A whole new defence and buy Mbappe to replace Suarez

I mind there used to be dedicated sessions to practising headers as a kid, particularly as I was taller. No wonder I’m a dribbling simpleton now Monty Oh Well

Hated headering the ball, good job I always played out wide so was never required to head it, just provide the inch perfect crosses for the strikers :shittea

You obviously didn't play football in Scotland if you didn't have goal kicks fired out wide and central midfielders who would clear the ball play long diagonal passes to you.

We were always encouraged to play it on the deck, I actually played a few games as a ball playing centre hawf. Had a trial for dundee united and I played centre back, Rhys McCabe played up front for rangers and absolutely shredded me, wee cunt was in the year below me at school too.

He ended up as a centre mid aye, think he even played full back for the Huns when they were on the way to going under. He was a dynamite striker at one point though.

You might’ve played against a couple of my mates who played in the same team as him at that point. Think Kenny McLean was also in the side.

The boy Wagner seems to be building his reputation well again in Germany after leaving Huddersfield. Watching their game in the battle cruiser and he seems to like the pressing game too. Schalke are a huge football club. Of course he did a phenomenal job getting Huddersfield up to the EPL in the first place and is apparently very highly rated by Klopp so it will be interesting to see if any big English club gives him the opportunity again in the future, or maybe even a Dortmund or Bayern.
