He did the all cooking for the photoshoot for the Phaidon "India cookbook" that came out a few years ago.

“Spice Monkey” sounds like a contact in AP and Morph’s phone address books.

Was thinking the exact same and then remembered that in my phone one of the boys I used to play football with is saved as “Rave Monkey”. Monty But

Day five of quarantine. Running low on fresh food from the fridge, millions of dry/canned/frozen stuff though. Had a creme egg for lunch; been keeping them in the fridge so i get to savour the experience.

That looks nice kash.

Can’t beat a wee bit of avocado toast as a simple, energy boosting lunch Piggy

Tiger bread with avocado, lime juice, chilli flakes, olive oil mashed together and spread on. The easiest thing in the world to make but tastes superb Quite Good

Brought up on it, Pondy. Had a box last night. There used to be another one in the 80s. Was pasta shells in a tomato kind of sauce. Similar box, though not sure if by Kraft though.

Good man. Can't think of any other similar-type deal zog but memory is useless. KD was the only one we ever ate, although I do recall when we first moved up north the school made us lunches, and one of the meals was a macaroni (from scratch), probably including milk powder, and of course it was batch made so always seemed on the lean side and far from creamy, but they also for some crazy reason would chuck in tins of plum tomatoes which gave it a distinct flavour. Guess they thought it was so we'd get our daily five which tbf wasn't easy when you got a plane in with resupplies every 2-3 weeks, and it definitely brought very little fresh stuff.

The porridge they made for us in the mornings had a hint of gasoline, which they tried to mask with molasses. Must have spilled onto the oats during the annual sealift as they were bringing it ashore. Simple times! Sob

Wiggo

Tinned tomatoes.

I remember mac and cheese though.

I remember in primary school. 82-86 they had this pudding in plastics trifle dishes. Mashed apples, fake cream and cornflakes crushed on top  Monty LewLew

Until 1986, everybody got the same meal to eat after saying a prayer. The first day of the normal cafeteria was Pinilla

I remember it well Herzog, especially the prayer part. Fat Cunt

I remember refusing to do it one Friday and thinking I’d got off with it when the wee supervisor woman didn’t really kick up a fuss.

Went to my Grans for dinner on the Sunday and the old boot had grassed me up saying that I’d told her I was a non believer!! I was only about 6 or 7 ffs!!!

Turns out the two of them were pals and went to church together on a Sunday. Wiggo

My Gran went ape shit and tore strips off me for it, even though I’d only refused to join in. Hated my Gran ever since.

My primary school used to make Mac & Cheese but have chopped tomatoes along the top with the melted cheese.

Absolutely rank rotten.
