He'll be the new John Colquhoun. Absolute rejection of the hooped filth.

I'm glad somebody has said this before me - he reminds me of JC a wee bit.

Expecting pelters.

Robbie the day, btw - 1-1, with QOS looking decent - he makes the necessary changes, and we win 4-1.

Respect is due.

Robbie has all the makings of being the next big Scottish manager to make it big in the EPL

... After he smashes the duopoly and leads Hearts to the first Scottish title won by a non-OF club since 1985, that is. Wink

And while that prediction may not be entirely serious, the point is this. This is the perfect job for him. He can learn the ropes under a very wise head, never be under too much pressure - and he's at a club with the natural capability to move pretty bloody rapidly back into the upper reaches of the top division. Celtic are vulnerable, Rangers are a circus, and neither Aberdeen nor Dundee United are big enough to take full advantage.

If the first few months under Ann Budge are any kind of sign of things to come, Hearts just might be. Who knows? Big clubs career off the rails when things are wrong; but they also rocket into contention when things are right. Robbie will know that; he'll know Hearts' potential. I think he'd be nuts to go anywhere else for the next 5 years to be honest: he'll want to surf that momentum as far as it can possibly take him and us.

Incidentally: none of the above means I think promotion is done and dusted in any way. It's not. Things could still go wrong - not that I think they will - and there's a heck of a lot of football to be played yet this season. But we are so upwardly mobile right now, it's fantastic - and Robbie Neilson is a born Hearts manager. We're as good for him as he is and will be for us I think.

PS. One other thing. If Hearts win the Championship this season, it'll be only the third time since 1986 that a club not called Celtic has finished above Rangers in the latter's division. And the previous two times it was done? Hearts in 1988; and Hearts in 2006. Smile

There will need to be a step change when we go up - playing against weaker opposition week in week out, leaves us vulnerable when we come up against teams who are fitter, faster and stronger than those we're used to (just now).

We have the players (mostly), so it will be interesting to see how Levein and Robbie approach a new era in the top league.

We really missed wee Gomis in the middle of the park.

QOTS are a tidy wee side and had us by the baws for about 15 minutes at the start of the second period.

Shout of the day at the ref- just a bauld Willie Collum.
