Stephen Fry has stepped down as host, to be replaced by Sandi Toksvig.

I'm happy to let anyone win the great british bake-off, but in this case i'll be banging the anti-PC brigade drum for Toksvig's appointment. Although they could've done worse, i'm sure someone at the beeb was keen for Jack Whitehall to get the gig.

Even if you don't care for Fry in other parts of his career, he was masterful in his role at QI.

They should just cancel it. Stephen Fry was the show IMO.

Surely there aren't people who don't care for Fry?! He's pretty much the definition of a national treasure in my book.

Spot on. Quite like Toksvig but there's no way anyone would be able to make it work without Fry. Completely different show if he's not hosting it.

Oxbridge, gay, jewish, lefty.

And that's just his personality; nevermind the shows he's in.

The people who don't like him are wrong, but that's not say they don't exist.

Add in the Norwich fan bit and it's beginning to look pretty familiar.

Was looking for the classic lawson smiley under a google search of "Lawson Uruguay Jambos"

Couldn't see it. I did find this though

It's off of kickback. There was a time when that smiley was acceptable.

Q.I. built a niche for itself as a more highbrow panel show purely because of Fry. Its fans could laugh at Jimmy Carr making the same knob jokes he makes elsewhere and still feel middle class because every so often Fry would say something clever. Without his presence it's just another 8 out of 10 Cats or whatever.

Has anyone ever actually listened to The News Quiz that she hosted on Radio 4? It's Mock the Week meets Countdown, fucking awful.

Now you mention it, yes. Genuinely terrible.

The "No Such Thing as a Fish" podcast is just the researcher from QI sitting about discussing the stuff they've looked at each week. It's basically an episode of QI without the treatment of comedy writers so will soon be infinitely better than the show it feeds.
