£100ish for a bottle - but is one of the best I've tasted.

I best pick up a bottle for his Christmas then, it's one of his favourites.

Thanks for the heads up Sound

Looks quite "wacky" going by the website. I take it the actual event isn't just wall to wall wankers like the website makes it look? Quite fancy it otherwise Quite Good

Last year some old blazered chuff got thrown out of the glenfiddich experience for doing his best to smash a £1000+ bottle and I ended up scrapping with a bin. Good day Quite Good

It's a real mix of hipsters, old jakes and decent sorts. Can't recommend it enough tbh. I spent the entire time at the big peat table last time and could barely walk out the place. For anyone that likes a peaty whisky and is open to blends this is just a fantastic whisky.

They give you a glass on the way in the door and that's all you'll spend unless you want to buy a pie or a bottle.

Quite Good

Two tickets for £35 is decent as well.

Talisker Storm, Bowmore 12yo, Auchentoshan in that order for me. Recommend all three highly.

I absolutely adore whisky.

I'm an irregular drinker but the last few weddings i've been at have been big for whisky. The more i try pretty expensive stuff the more i think i could get in to it. My hip flask is usually filled with laphroaig; what would folk recommend that's similar?

The Caol Isla is a fairly medicinal number.

I'm also an irregular drinker. It's not exactly night out material, that being rum on the rocks with a twist of lime or a vodka and soda, but when the time is right, it's an incredible drink. Definitely something you can appreciate more as your tastebuds develop as well. Like most on here I imagine, my dad is also a big whisky fan, usually a malt, or a very nice blend, but he's no snob insisting on 25 year old this or that. By very nice blend, he has some blue label, which is superb, and I gave him a bottle of dalmore king alexander III (a gift from a client which I would have loved to keep, but he would appreciate more than me) which is also incredible. Get the relatives round, start them off on a drop of the nice stuff and switch the bottles after a couple, they never know. Shitwine

I have a mate who has given me two ridiculous bottles I might never open. £250-£350 they would be worth currently I think. Torn because they will be a special drop, but also the moment hasn't been right to open them. Eek

I go quite a lot, top pub, and unreal whisky selection. One of those places I will always take visitors/guests who come to stay, or a friend of a friend passing through etc. They always love it as well. Malt of the month is usually a sound bet, quite often been benromach when I've been in, which is a well underrated drop.

That's a good shout actually. You're right that it does have a similar medicinal thing going on to Laphroaig.

There you go, I bet you really wanted validation from me. Jose

Tesco is selling Auchentoshan for £20 a bottle just now.

They've a few others on offer too, Aberlour I think.

Thoughts on Glenfiddich? Bought a bottle of 12 y/o on a whim at Costco the other day because they had it for £23.

Had it once or twice before; was beyond pished once and don't remember it being that good but for that price I thought it was worth getting. Think it usually retails about £35.
