Young Fathers are probably the cream of Scottish music just now, Not a fan of Capaldi but he can write a pop tune, have to agree with you about Gerry cinnamon-just reeks of being a jakey sellick fan.

Callum Easter is meant to be quite good although I’ve not heard his stuff myself. Plenty other decent Scottish bands coming out-the snuts mentioned earlier in this thread Quite Good

Cheers, mate. I'll check out a couple of those suggestions.

He, alongside a dozen or so professional song writers, can write a pop tune. He can belt them out though.

Monty Oh You had a sneaky feeling he’d have a songwriting team behind him but at least he writes some of them/contributes

Good to see they’re sticking to appealing to the T4 on The Beach crowd, same as last year. Sally

Between that and Gerry Cinnamon at Hampden? Fat Cunt

I'm a fan of the Blue Nile, Simple Minds, Deacon Blue, Mogwai... more recent stuff, Frightened Rabbit.... That's about it really.

Screamadelica one of the best Scottish albums IMO.

Other than what you’ve mentioned Boards of Canada are excellent and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

More recently I’d agree, not a lot of great bands. The Twilight Sad had a couple of decent albums and I quite like We Were Promised Jetpacks.

I went along with a mate to see a band he liked called the Dunts recently (from Glasgow) and I thought it was not bad.

If you express a liking for dwarf loving Hibs shite again, I’ll be furnishing you with your first neggy m8 Greggy

Any Scottish band list without Belle & Sebastian and Teenage Fanclub on it is objectively wrong Monty Smug

Can’t go wrong with a bit of The Orange Juice as well.

On Scottish acts, went to see Steve Mason supported by Pictish Trail on Monday. Was a decent gig.

Was listening to the stooges when mrs p walked in.  I asked her 'you wanna be my dog'?  I'll be your dog she replied in harmony ... made me think of this classic from back in the day ...
