Having not been aware of this podcast till recently I've only watched a few - which would you recommend, say top 5 or so? Who is this Si Ferry guy, presumably the show is a success because of the guests rather than this ned? Been listening to the Jamie Carragher podcast, 'The Greatest Game', really good. Gary Naysmith Gary Locke Kevin Kyle Ian Black Stevie Fulton David Templeton Ryan McGowan There's possibly more. I've enjoyed them. Not listened to any others.

Jamie carragher gobs at folk driving alongside him and tries to get his mates to break his team mates legs, a proper ned. Si Ferry is a footballer for Peterhead and has a working class accent. They are all good if you enjoy changing room banter. He's got a way of getting the best stories out of folk. The Michael Stewart one was good the other week. A decent starting point.

Didn't enjoy the Ian black one as even on a lighthearted podcast he came across as a wee prick. One that I didn't expect to be good is Gordon smart the journalist. Some of his stories are phenomenal. From nights out with Noel Gallagher to scrapping with Edgar Davids because he said Scottish football was shite. Expect The Jet to top the lot.

The stew one was brilliant, there's loads of good ones but I just enjoy football chat in general, Barry Ferguson one is good, Arthur Numan, even the mcgeady one its interesting hearing people's stories.

That podcast with Kyle and Slane is good too as they usually do talk about hearts if something has happened.

Gary Lockes has been my favourite one Hearts wise.
Garry O'Connor's was funny though tbf +1 for Gordon Smarts being a decent listen. The Kevin Kyle and Gary Locke one at the Tennents factory was good also.

Ferry is a pretty inoffensive presence tbh - I don't usually notice him. Lets his guests tell their stories, which is all you can really ask for in an interviewer of that type.
Footballers don't tend to be the most articulate sorts, so I doubt having David Frost running the show would improve things too much.
Appreciate the advice and feedback on the podcast, will definitely check out at least the Hearts related ones.
Was wondering if anyone would take the bait as I was posting the ned comment - after his tough week I'm not surprised to see it was AP! Hope you have a good weekend son Re Carragher he's made some significant fuck ups, haven't we all. What I would say about him though is that his love of football is far from the norm for many footballers, he's a fan at heart but has a vast knowledge of the game. He remembers everything about his career and the careers of his colleagues and opponents etc. It's not something you can say about a high % of ex pros.

He gets them to share things that they often wouldn't with other interviewers, so from that point of view he does a good job. He can be nippy, but seems like he's an alright guy overall - harmless. Do enjoy the interviews though. Hartley was dece

Yeah I read Gerrards autobiography years ago and he said he was the most football obssessed guy he had ever mrt and said he would become a manager but I wonder if he's found a happy medium with the punditry.

I think ferry would be quite nippy in real life, he seems to think primary school banter is hilarious and is constantly going on about how folk look.
