The love of cats among certain of the weedier members of the board is well documented, but do any of the THFam have a dog?

Had one but my mum looks after her now. Was great when the weather was decent & pre-kids. Bit of a cunt having to walk them in the middle of winter.

My mum and dad have 2 dogs. Walking them is a pain in the arse but that's the only complaint, great wee things. Far superior to cats in every way.

Dogs FTW. Mrs VS want's another dog. Will probably agree to it next time she's broody.

Looking at getting a dog soon. Mrs Sobchak is from a family that never had dogs, and her mum is quite afraid of them, and that fear seems to be inherited. So I'm working on her just now, problem is anything too big/excitable/energetic/hairy/yappy/small is ruled out. Laugh Leaves fuck all choice, as even the most docile and lovable of dogs, the beagle, has been deemed "too doggy" and has "evil eyes" apparently.Rofl

Thinking about an Italian Greyhound, though they are really fragile, might be able to swing a whippet or a smooth haired whippet cross/lurcher.

We had a King Charles Cavalier, great wee dogs that are really friendly.

Yeah they're nice wee things. My Aunt has one, but this thing is properly spoiled, leads the champagne and caviar lifestyle, and is therefore a fat fuck that never moves more than a few metres from basket to bowl and back. I say "has one" but I've not been to their house for a while, so it might have passed away tbh, good odds on that actually.

Horrific when people do that to them, you see so many fat ones.

Got a westie, he's about two years old. Pretty well trained but might have an issue in the future as he fucking hates kids. Nothing angers him more than the sound of a child's laughter. But 95% of the time he's a good wee dug.

It's nice to have him plodding around the house and walks in nice weather are a great treat. The winter months are pretty dire for the most part however.

I'm from a family that isn't keen on dogs. Mum is from tillicoultry and there was (is?) a gympsy camp nearby and they let their dogs run free, so she was petrified of them and passed it along. Took me a few months to get used to the wee guy to the point that I was totally comfortable with him and any other dog we'd encounter. If your wife is maternal, there's no way she won't learn really quickly.

I'll be right up front and say I fucking detest dogs. Smelly, slavering pets. I actually try to avoid them.

Never understood why some have to qualify a liking for dogs with a hatred for cats.

I like both creatures and will add a border collie to the two Japanese bobtails I already own when circumstances permit.

Yeah, I'm certain she will be fine, and will love whatever dog we get. The thing is actually choosing one that meets the list of criteria, which I can only guess at, like I can't understand why she would think a beagle was intimidating.

Have you seen Italian greyhounds? Lovely wee dogs.

A mate has two, they are mental. Yappy little nutters who just roll about and playfight each other 24/7. Hilarious but quite tiring, as they just yelp and yap. One of them had to get a facelift, cost him a grand. Rofl
