I do think he has lost a bit of interest in F1, though. He has so many other things going on that I could imagine them being his priorities in the near future.
Again, i'm not really feeling that too much. Mercedes has given him free reign to pursue all his other activities. He certainly has big plans for when he retires but he loves racing and winning. He will quit as soon as he feels the young ones catching up with his aging years in order to protect his legacy though - which could be in a couple of years for sure.
What I reckon will happen is that Verstappen will go to Mercedes and join with Russell and Hamilton will go to Red Bull for a year or two, creating a contract whereby he can do some radical stuff as Red Bull driver. As an energy drinks company their brand requires people who are creative and want to go "beyond sport". I think Hamilton will end up at RB with the proviso that he can pursue lots of extra-curricular activities (e.g. music, environmentalism, clothing brands, race equality issues etc...)
Merc accommodate him while RB would encourage him I think.
